A member asked:

Black stools, abdominal swelling and extreme fatigue. what is likely to be causing this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bowel lesion: Black stool represents blood from high in the bowel. With abdominal swelling one expects that the bowel is partially obstructed causing proximal dilatation. Fatigue would be due to blood loss so that one needs blood work up and a CAT scan of abdomen followed by colonoscopy. The scan would help define a site of origin of the problem and whether if malignant has it spread.
