I got the news from my doc that i came out positive for herpes but did not prescribe me no antibiotics. why not? don't i need them?

No: You need treatment only if you have an outbreak and at that if recurrent. The doctor will treat this with an antiviral agent and this will help the patient be symptom free longer. Antibiotics are used for bacterial infections. I hope this helps
