ACTH: low steroids?: An adrenocorticosteroid hormone (ACTH) stimulation test using "17-hydroxy steroid levels" as a measure of degree of activity is used to determine potential adrenal cortex activity. The results reported show a generally positive potential for cortical activity. The test separates low natural stimulation of the cortex from the ability of the cortex to react.
