No, but they can: sink or settle down below your visual axis, so it's not so bothersome. Since it occurs from changes associated with the eye as we age, it's a normal process, and not to be of much concern unless you are seeing a whole curtain of floaters occurring obstructing your vision. That would be a sign of a retinal tear.
