A member asked:

Does prozac (fluoxetine) cause side effects? is it better to take then citalopram?

Possibly: All medications have potential side effects, although in general, they seldom occur, and if they do, are mostly manageable. Every event that happens during the pre marketing drug trials gets listed as a side effect, even if unrelated to the drug. Discuss your concern with your prescriber to hear what he or she has seen with use of the agent and learn why you need this drug in the first place.

SIMILAR MEDS: First of all as you may know every medication has the potential for side effects. Prozac (fluoxetine) and Celexa are both very similar medications and cannot say one is better than the other. Just need to get into treatment and work with your physician to see which works best for you
