Don't: Color-blindness is usually congenital (from birth) and results from one or more of the several families of color receptors in the eye. No one, optometrist, ophthalmologist or otherwise, will be able to cure it. Most people are color confused, not color-blind, and so function well in our colorful society!

See ophthalmologist: Always best to consult with an ophthalmologist (eye md) for any eye issue as they are fully trained. Optometrists are limited in training and legal allowances. This would include testing for color deficiency.
