Optometrist can tell: Babies are attracted to light anyways so I would not assume he is blind unless there are other signs that he might be. At this age he should be focusing on faces and starting to track, so if he is not doing that than you should have his eyes checked. You can also try spinning him, if he could see he will try to focus and his eyes will move back and forth.

Doubt it....but....: An infant may look in one direction due to position, however, infants at that age do not gaze at anything continuously for more than a few seconds. Your regular physician/pediatrician can likely verify sight if you are spooked by the event.
