See a physician to get instructions regarding lifestyle changes, medications, and possibly endoscopy for the proper diagnosis if this has been going on for a while.sometimes esophageal spasm can set this off as well and getting an exam with a full history will help you. I See if you get relief with Tums (calcium carbonate) or Prilosec in order to give your doc info.

Caffeine?: Caffeine in coffee can be an irritant to your stomach. There may be other dietary things as well, such as fried foods, alcohol, NSAID medications. Meet with your doctor for a full evaluation of your discomfort. By the way, caffeine is also found in tea, soda, and chocolate.
