A member asked:

What does bilateral acute sphenoid sinusitis mean? my eyes have been swelling together and lots of headaches as well as blurred vision and dizziness.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sphenoid sinusitis: This is a rare but dangerous sinusitis. The optic nerve travels very close to the sphenoid sinus and an infection can cause inflammation around the neurovascular supply of the eyes. You will most likely need surgery by an ENT to open and drain the sphenoid sinuses.
