Telogen efluvium -TE: Hair fall may be due to chemical or physical damage to hair, chronic iron deficiency, inflammatory or autoimmune skin disease, a disorder of the growth phase, or age / heredity. Grab about 50 hairs and see how many come out when you tug on them. > 6 suggests that problem is in the hair follicle. One common cause is TE a process in which many hair follicles all enter the rest phase together.
