Lymph Nodes: There are many lymph nodes under the jaw line that can become swollen and painful with a cold or flu.

Neck: Might be swollen lymph nodes in that area from the cold, mild inflammation of a salivary gland from the virus or dental in origin

Did you have MMR: Long time ago the answer to this question would be " I think you have Mumps... Today . assuming you have had MMR when you were a kid. think of viral infection with lymph node enlargement.
