At what stage of pregnancy will blood test be positive?will it ever be too late for the test or only too early?

Only too early...: The pregnancy tests are testing for the presence of a hormone that is made when you are pregnant --- if that level is too low (ie too soon) then the test may be falsely negative. You will not get a "false negative" because you took the test too late.
