What do the symptoms of depression tell you about childhood?

Briefly see below: Depends on theoretical orientation, but briefly... We learn how friendly or unfriendly our environment is early in life. We learn how to cope with the environment when we're young. Depending on what happened during those tender years, the way we learn how to relate, communicate, cope with things transcends into adulthood. If something is amiss, this might lead to depression.
