A member asked:

Can parasites cause pancreatitis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: There are numerous organisms that have this potential, perhaps one of the more common ones being Ascaris lumbricoides, although Strongyloides stercoralis, Clonorchis senensis and Echinococcus granulosis have also been reported, among other rare cases. It is not a common cause of pancreatitis, particularly in the USA.
