Uterine tissue: There are uncommon instances where a woman has endometrial tissue (tissue inside the uterus)located outside the uterus. This tissue can sometimes be located in the lining of the lung and can bleed during a normal menstrual period. It's possible that this is causing the rib pain you are describing.
