Get a DEXA scan: At your age even if you have arthritis there is a chance the pain is from Osteoporosis. A DEXA scan will help sort this out. If the pain is from arthritis it usually requires a combination of physical therapy( the best long term answer) and arthritis medication or injections to control the symptoms short term. It is not unusual for the treatment to take time.
