Yes!: i notice you have Asthma and Panic disorder. You need to avoid cold medications that contain a decongestant like pseudo ephedrine due to taking Effexor, and could make your panic attacks worse. Aspirin, Tylenol (acetaminophen) would be okay. Careful with anti histamines like Benadryl, could affect you. If needed Claritin is rejected by the blood brain barrier so is less likely to sedate you. Check w your prescrib

Save your money: Most over the counter oral cold and cough medicines are INNEFECTIVE. Typical ingredients include: 1) Pseusoephedrine (on oral decongestant) Can cause elevated blood pressure and rapid heart beat, and not as effective as Afrin decongestant nasal spray. 2) Guaifenesin (an expectorant) Which is not effective in recent studies. 3) Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) Not effective in a recent study
