Why?: People rarely drink water anymore. The fast majority of beverages are made in large metropolitan areas with a fluoridated water supply. It is unlikely you need a fluoride supplement. At age 40 your tooth enamel formed decades ago and dietary fluoride won't change that. HOWEVER, topical fluoride can offer some benefit. Such as in tooth paste, a mouth rinse or as your dentist gives you.
