Depends on pain type: Hydrocodone is an opioid pain killer that works well for pain transmitted by specialized pain receptors like in your skin or muscle. Opioid pain killers are not very effective from pain from organs such as the stomach and intestines and from pain resulting from nerve injury. This may explain why hydrocodone is not working for you. Consult a physician to find a better treatment.
