What to do about radiation poisoning from weekly-ish ct scans?

Why so many?: Why would you have weekly CT scans? Each scan has a tiny radiation risk but normally people have only a small number. If there is some very severe medical condition that requires close CT monitoring I really think the medical condition is more important than the incremental cancer risk.
