See below: There are several causes of shoulder pain. You will probably want to see your physician if your pain is lasting greater than 2 weeks. Initially a short course of rest, ice, and compression will usually calm the pain down. If this does not help your physician may prescribe anti-inflammatories and physical therapy. Sometimes injections can be used to help decrease the pain and facilitate therapy.
