A member asked:

Scratched eyeball a few days ago and didn't get treated. will it scar, how to heal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should heal: Healing of corneal scratches - termed abrasion - is very rapid ordinarily. Usually within 12-36 hours unless there is some other issue. If the scratch is superficial, then healing will occur without scarring. If deeper than the outer layer, it might scar although this is usually peripheral and will not affect the vision. If the scar is central, then vision might be changed.
