A member asked:

Will ebola virus in its current form will ever become a pandemic?

It is possible: This depends upon the results of the current containment efforts. It is now in three countries in Africa and control varies from community to community. As it spreads, containment gets more difficult. This is becoming more and more a problem with international funds and attention. I believe pandemic ebola is unlikely but I would not entirely rule it out.

Aggressive attempts: at containment are being made to prevent this from happening. Transmission is from someone who has signs of infection via contact wi blood or bodily fluids or through contact wi contaminated objects.Because Ebola virus is not air-borne & is only transmitted once symptomatic it simplifies containment.
