Few can: Control of this challenging condition is very difficult - you're not alone. Hopefully, you'll avoid the most distressing symptoms, but even that may be hard at times. Medications are hard to live w/ but probably are necessary. Try to find your best fits. Try to create a safe setting for bad times and have a trusted other. Go there like a refuge to get thru. Stock it w/ your most comforting things!

Get help: Antipsychotic medications are indicated & antidepressants may be needed for co occurring depression. Psychoeducation for the patient & family is important as is psychotherapy (such as cognitive behavioral therapy), a strong support system & a community based treatment team.
