See your OBGYN: "Cold sores" are a result of HSV (herpes) infection. There are medications that help can help with this virus during pregnancy. Unfortunately, once one has a "cold sore" the efficacy of the medication is limited. Knowing when you are about to get a "cold sore" is the best time to address it b/c one can stop it from erupting by taking antiviral medications at this time.

See ob/gun: you have a cold sore. If it is herpes then treatment may be indicated. If it is a stress related or apthous ulcer then avoid too much stress. The obgyn can se you and advise as to the risk related when deliverying.

RELAX: The pills for herpes are perfectly safe during pregnancy. A cold sore will not be a risk to the fetus. After it is a few hours old, it does not much matter what you do anyway. It will heal in a week or so.
