Yes: If you missed 4 bc pills, this cycle is no longer effective. You must use back up birth control to prevent pregnancy until you are back on for a week of regular bcp in a new cycle.

Possible: The chances for breakthrough ovulation and conception increase with number of pills missed in a cycle. Missed pills often cause breakthrough bleeding, and the bleeding does not indicate you are protected from pregnancy.
