Flank pain: Fever associated, sweats or chills, diarrhea? Still may be kidney stones or urine infection - blood may be present, just not visible to the eye. Pulled muscle and bowel issues are still possible. If it is skin tenderness - may even be start of shingles. Fluids and rest - follow up with your physician if persisting or worsening.
