Just: be careful. Tampons are fine to use. And yes once a year or so, I will have a pt who leaves one in. Usually you will experience an increasing foul smelling discharge. That will bring you into the doctors office and they will find it and remove it. If you arent sure and cant feel or find the string, dont hesitate to contact your doctor to get checked. I have never had anyone get sick or die.
