What kind of pain?: If in fact the pain is neuropathic, as your question suggests, you need an EMG. if you have a job that puts you at risk for carpal tunnel syndrome or if you play a sport/lift weights, etc that could worsen this, you want to have it addressed ASAP before you lose motor and sensory function permanently. Try Tramadol or Gabapentin for pain and see a hand surgeon. Once you lose strength, It's 2 late.
