Is there any cure for ulcerativecolitis? if no permanent cure, how to avoid its relapse? any diet precautions to be taken for this?

Usually treated.: UC can be cured by removing the colon. However, this is a drastic step reserved for the very severe cases. Recurrence rates and severity are hard to predict. Only time will tell. Treatments can be very effective. There are no specific dietary precautions. However, if you find certain foods that make you feel better or worse you should follow your "gut."

Treatment, cure: Hi. I'm not a gastroenterologist, but I'll add my two cents. Treatments for UC are very good now. Sometimes partial or total colectomy is required, but with immunomodulating therapy, I don't think removal of the colon (or partial removal) is done much anymore. My advice would be avoid prednisone because of side effects.
