DDD: After the age of 35, the water and protein content of the cartilage of the body changes. This may cause the gradual deterioration of the disc between the vertebrae is referred to as Degenerative Disc Disease. Usually a combination of treatments is used to help manage the disorder. Most patients treated with non-surgical treatments, but in some cases surgery is necessary.
