A difficult problem.: SIck sinus syndrome can be difficult to treat because it is often a combination of episodes when the heart rate is too fast, alternating with episodes when the heart rate is too slow. Most drugs used to treat the problem, including diltiazem, slow the fast episodes but often make the slow ones worse. In such cases, more thorough studies of the heart's "electrical" system may be necessary.

Dangerous: u can't use Av blockers in SSS unless u have a pacemaker, it may control tachycardia but may also worsen bradycardia which may result in stoke, cardiac arrest or demise.
