2-3 days to 4 mo.: HIV: depends on level of risk and test. If very high risk, like known infected partner, RNA testing can begin as soon as 7-10 days. Low or average risk, best to wait 4 wk for DUO test or 6-8 wk for standalone antibody test. STDs: Gonorrhea & chlamydia, 2-3 days. Vaginal infections in women, 1-2 weeks. Syphilis 4-6 weeks. Herpes 3-4 months.
