A member asked:

Bg levels all over the place w/home glucometer. after waking i took 5 consecutive samples: 82, 105, 55, 93, & 90. calibrated properly. what's up?

Glucometer: The glucometer is only plus/minus 20%. It is designed to give a number that a diabetic can use to adjust his insulin dose. Of those 5 numbers, they are all consistent except for the 55. How much blood did you get? Did you have to "milk" your finger? Was there still alcohol on the finger? All these things can affect the reading.
