Recovery: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, there is a large number of patterns of EBV serology and your pattern fits with that of a person recovering from infection. EBV: The serological testing for EBV infection is difficult for most clinicians to interpret accurately and cannot be done in this venue. Suspect you may have EBV infection, although that is unusual at your age. There are also times when EBV serology can be falsely altered by infection with similar viruses like CMV and so on. Suggest you see an infectious disease expert and be assessed.
