A member asked:

I took a bad fall off a ladder 17 feet; could this have caused microvascular disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: If you hit your head from such a height, then you suffered brain trauma, which exposed the brain tissue to shear forces with consecutive structural injury of neuronal cell bodies and the support cells (astrocytes, microglia). This results in cerebral microvascular and endothelial cell damage. See a neurologist for evaluation. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/traumaticbraininjury.html
