A member asked:

Can someone please explain to me the long term effects of habitual marijuana use ? it's been 5 years and things are different for me .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are many: Chronic and particularly heavy marijuana use has been shown, in adolescents and young adults, to reduce intelligence, learning ability and ability to remember what you have learned. It can reduce motivation, and it can exacerbate other underlying psychological problems, like social anxiety and panic disorder. Please get help - there is lots available. Start with your primary care for referral.
