How does alcohol interact with prozac (fluoxetine) ? is an occasional glass of wine ok? i mixed 60mg plus up to 3 glasses for years with no apparent ill effect.

Alcohol and SSRIs: Mixing alcohol with any medication is not good practice. Moreover alcohol is a central nervous system depressant and its effects could be heightened when used with Prozac (fluoxetine) and visa versa. Please stop and let your doctor know. When bad side effects do occur it is hard to reverse them,so don't try to elicit them..
