Probably no effect : If you have taken Lexapro (escitalopram) daily for at least a week, then your blood level has reached what is called steady state & varying the timing on any given day after one week probably will not make a difference. Steady state depends on half-life (among other things), which is roughly 30 hours. This means it takes 30 hours for your body to metabolize half of the Lexapro (escitalopram) dose taken. Hope this helps.

Morning is better: Antidepressants like Lexapro (escitalopram) are best taken in the morning so they don't interfere with sleep. An hour or two won't make much difference though. Encouraging to hear that you are improving. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Yes: It would be better to be consistent about taking your medication around the same time every day. This will promote compliance and it would be more likely that you will take the medication every day and not miss pills. The half life of these meds is long so the significance of taking it at the same time daily is more so that you do not forget to take it. Also, it may take 4-6 weeks to see benefit
