Nursing benefits.: Most strictly nutritional benefits from nursing occur in the first three months. Stopping becomes a decision based on maternal preference: demands/convenience secondary to work, etc., may be complicated by nursing, but formula supplements are certainly adequate to replace nursing if necessary.

Do as you wish: Weaning is a natural point of transition for infants/children.Like learning to self settle/sleep alone, toilet train, separate and go to school, it is part of growing up. There are no nutritional superiority at that age, when they have a collection of table foods diluting the effects. If the kid needs comforting/nurturing i would BF.If you must catch him to feed him and he makes it short, wean.
