A member asked:

Is it normal to have light brown/whitish/dark green stools that are brown in the middle with ibs-c? the stools seem to be normal in shape

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely Normal: The color of one's stools vary with the length of time it takes for the waste matter to pass through your intestines; the longer it takes, the more time intestinal bacteria have to metabolize the pigments in the stools; so the progressions would be from green, to brown, to dark brown; the whitish color may be just some mucus;
