I have been taking verapamil 180mg sr for 2 months. i cannot tolerate the side effects. can i just stop taking it? or, do i have to wean myself?

Talk to your doctor!: Verapamil does not have any rebound characteristics so you could stop it easily. HOWEVER, this really depends on WHY you were taking the verapamil in the first place. Side effects can be managed by dosage changes or alternate medications. Talk to your doctor before making any unilateral changes without notification!

Dont stop: If you are intollerant to a drug speak with your doctor to get switched to an alternative. Dont just stop on your own.
