What is hyperkinesis?

Hyperactivity.: Hyperkinesis, from it's greek root, means excessive movement. Though it can be used to mean excessive muscular movement due to conditions of the nervous system, it is usually is used to describe overactivity or restlessness in children. It is categorized as a disturbance of activity and attention, characterized by restlessness, short attention span, mood swings, and impulsivity.
