I was previously diagnosed with bv. my doctor prescribed a metronidazole gel that i should take for 5 nights. but my discharge is still there?

Discharge: Pelvic organs are dynamic not static. Everyday cervical mucus is produced and a "discharge" occurs. When the discharge itches or has a foul rather than strong odor it is abnormal. The question is, is the 'fishy' odor gone? If it is, then the course of metrogel was effective.

Another apt: IF you cont to have the discharge 3 days after you have finished the metro gel, then you should have another apt. There could be another cause, or the length of time may not have been sufficient. Either of these possibilities would require another apt to dx.
