Pains from TMJ: Because many TMJ symptoms are muscularly related and when the muscles are unhappy the pain can be referred to other parts of the face and ears. Did your dentist refer you to someone skilled at treating TMJ or recommend a night guard or orthotic? These are common first lines of treatment with NSIDs or muscle relaxants. Also get checked for Sleep Apnea

Yes: Yes common TMJ symptoms. See a TMJ expert for guidance. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
