What is recommended for a person taking levofloxacillin as an iron supplement fumerate or sulphate?

Iron supplements: Iron sulfate is the supplement of choice for iron deficiency, but iron fumarate has similar bioavailability and CAN also be taken for iron deficiency. Since any iron can interfere with absorption of levofloxacin, make sure your take any iron at least 2 hours before or after the levofloxacin dose to avoid this problem.

Be aware: All forms of iron can lead to suboptimal levofloxacin absorption. Consider taking these medications separated by at least 2 hours.
