Hi, i have been bleeding for 6 weeks now with no other symptom,was given flagyl, it stopped on the 4th day but back by the 8th day. what possibly wrng?

Prolonged Period: When you have a prolonged period this indicates fluctuating levels of estrogen and progesterone in your body.For a regular period you have a steady increase you peak and right after your hormone level drops you get a period. Then your hormone levels rise again to start another cycle. To help stop your period, I usually give a progesterone pill called provera (medroxyprogesterone) for 5 day which stops the period.
