Gastritis: Steroids can predispose you the inflammation of the lining of the stomach called gastritis and ulcers. Be sure to take the medication with food, and if the pain worsens, you may need to stop the steroid.

Prednisone/stomach: Prednisone is known to cause stomach pain ,gastritis and even ulcers long term.It may unmask/exacerbate H pylori infection. Sometimes it is taken with food or with ranitidine/omeprazole to avoid the pain/gastritis. Would call your doctor and ask how to proceed.
