B-blocker & Alcohol: Hi, there could be interaction between alcohol and Metoprolol, alcohol could increase the risk of side effect from Metoprolol, also because both drugs depress the CNS, the risk of drowsiness and brain impairment could increase, better to drink in moderation, not more than 2 drinks a day and not more than 14 drinks a wk. It doesn't matter when you drink the alcohol.
