Will nyquil help with the swelling associated with strep throat?

Ibuprofen instead: There are several forms of nyquil. some contain acetaminophen which may help with pain or fever but not swelling. It also may contain antihistamines, decongestants, cough suppressants or alcohol You are more likely to get relief of the swelling with ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen). Of course you must also treat the strep with antibiotics to resolve the underlying issue.

Slight help: Nyquil contains some ingredients which soothe the throat and may to a degree help decrease some swelling. It does not treat the strep but helps decrease some pain and again may incidentally reduce swelling
